at the end of Dec, the vans near me is shutting down. i could care less about the actual park, but they had a 14ft vert ramp. on top of that, i lived within a 5 min drive from my mother's house, so i'd be able to go vert skating everyday (i never went that much though).

this will be the 2nd vert ramp to be taken from me. the 1st was at airborne, which was the sick park that hosted the RFCC comp last year. they also had a 10ft vert with a 3ft roll-in, and airborne was only 10min from my father's house. I still don't know why airborne closed.

it's not fair. it seems like every vert/park near me gets closed. there used to be 5 parks in my entire state with vert ramps. the remaining 3 parks are over 2 hour drives.

i'm not posting this to complain about not having a vert, but the reality is that vert is not popular nowadays, and you see that with more and more parks closing.

it's going to be very hard for me to get better at vert now.

Yeah all Vans are going to be closing, I use to go to one in Houston but it closed, then there was another one in Houston, but it is closed right now but hopefully it will open again.

the one in denver closed doors late last year... apparently vans found it no longer profitable to support the skaters beyond selling shoes/hats. probably because 99% of rollerbladers/boarders skate real street these days; its more the style.

Welcome to my life, i have to drive 3 hours to the nearest vert ramp and sometimes it's not there, it travels sometimes.
