I have 3 different 900s on vert, fakie, fakie bio, and mctwist. I also landed a 1080 mctwist at woodward on the resi.

don't worry about it man...do like you said and practice. you'll get better. you don't start off doing 1080's first day.

I can spin 540, switch 5, but never above the coping... and on most of my straight 5's, I tend to slide out... probably a fear thing, huh?

i used to do that, but one day it suddenly went. wierd. have you tried to just go for it above the coping?

Paul

I can 360 above coping, 540 at coping level and my 720 McTwist is usually about coping level though i've been trying to get it above coping. Marc Englehart and Takeshi have tried the 1440, though i think Marc almost landed it.

i can do 540s, but usually 20% of the time. my confidence got shattered, when i fell on one. let's just say, that fall really tested how much impact my helmet could withstand.

FAKIE 900!!!! not in vert though. I was at my local park last night ans i've been trying fakie 720's on their launch box and last night i fianlly got them and decided to try the next step up and bairly got the fakie 900 around. I was so stoked that i lnaded it that i forgot about the quarter after the launch and smashed my face into the ramp.

It's awesome to see how everyone is inspired to learn new spins.
Though remember... The Line that devides pro between am is power.
Of course knowing 9's and 10's are sick as hell but look at who's pro not many can do more than a 900. Focuse on power, height, and style on all your tricks as your first priority it will make learning the hard spins easier, safer and make you better in the long run.

thats the one thing i hate about park contests is everyone only thinks about grinds, I think about grinds. but i also look for huge gaps, flips, spins, and anything else i can think of.
Thats why i love vert it's not just one type of trick you need to learn all sorts of different tricks, flips, spins, inverts, grinds.

seeing as this bit is all about spinning thought id add that i just learnt straight spin 720s, got them around coping height. was really pleased when i landed the first one cos i've been wanting to do one ever since i learnt 540s about 2 years ago. the next step is to get them higher and higher and smoother, with style, etc. then mayb ill start thinking about a 900!

wow last night my first 720 bio!

I was going up for 540, and as I was turning, I kicked my "uphill" foot towards my chest. By the time I spun 540, my feet were way too far away from the ramp for landing, so I waited for another 180. I still have to use my hand to help me land, but it feels really cool. now if only I could throw that above the coping....
