The forward 900 is a very hard trick.
This is what I've found to be the most helpful parts of the trick.

Timing is so, so important on this trick. You really really have to be patient until you are at the vert to go into it. I have the habit of going into it too early. I also try to stay tight to the ramp by keeping my knees bent and not pumping too much riding up the ramp. The trick really likes to kick you into the flat or on to the deck so having the right distance from the coping is a key factor and the perfect take off.

When you feel feel your self ride off the vert throw your spin. Some people spin really bio and other straight, I spin it straight and really try to think 540. I've been told you can see much more when you spin bio but I've always found it easier to spin straight.

When I spin I use my hips, leeding skate, head and arms to spin. And really tighten up.

Sometimes I will do a couple 540's before I try the 9 just to get the feel for it. Think 540 when you try the 900 which will help figure things out.

If you are spinning straight you still need to drop your shoulder a little so that you have good entry coming in on the vert.

Most of this trick is timing, I've seen pros fall on this trick including myself just because we go into it too early. It's so easy to make that mistake. Get really good 5's and 7's, then put them together.

This is a dangerous and inconsistant trick. Many pros have been injured from this trick so I suggest great patients with it and to really think it through before trying it.

Yeah it took me 3 years and 2 bad crashes to learn my forward 900 mctwist. Most of my problem with the trick was being bad at forward landings though.

the only place i've thrown a 900 is into a foam pit. im so freacked out to spin big on vert but i know i've got to do it. my biggest spin is the 720 McTwist and it's vert inconsistant, 1 out of every 6-7 tries do i land it.

you might want to learn regular 7's before you try the 9's. And get the bio 7's super consistant.

i've got normal 7s down now so ive started tryings 9s, i dont mind spinning on vert, normal or fakie, the biggest problem im having is landing on both feet or i end up with my feet tangled together

keep your head looking and spot your landing. Forward 9's are pretty blind but you can still feel for the landing and might beable to get a chance to spot right before touch down.

i have almost landed a forward 900 for me i just get all my armor on and when i go and huck it it dont hurt that bad when i fall cause of the curve of the ramp. Though for me when i spin i tend to spin sideways cause of the way i throw my big spins up and over my shoulder

so i tend to call it more of a flat spin 900 than a regular 900.
