crash pads

I've been debating for a while to get a pair of crash apds or not, has anyone used them and if so how are they, i really need them because i've damaged my hips so bad that if i hit them to hard on ANYTHING they will bruise up and i will hardly be able to walk at all. SO are the crash pads worth it or not becuase i will do anything to save my hips.

They are definetly worth it.

definitly worth it... i have a pair and i never skate without them anymore. they make falling so much easier on the body.

I've been using crash pads for like 9 years, definatly worth it. I don't ride any agressive without them. They are second most important to knee pads.

at first they felt weird but now it feels weird without them. they are worth it 8)

think i might have to get some, the problem is i find that any pads constrict movement an they feel too wierd to skate in :(

Pads can make you think that at first, but usually after you get use to them you hardly notice you are wearing them.

in my day, we didnt have crash pads. when we learned royales, we came home bruised and bloodied. we could wear pants because our scabs would stick, and get ripped off when we took off our pants. it hurt for us to sit, but we did just fine. we can hold royales for eternity.

Yeah, I've got shin scars from royales galore from the years, though i'm still not too good at them... damn left leg. Recently an injury inspired me to pick up those roces shin plates and once I got used to 'em under my pants I've never gone back to skating without 'em. I just pop off a ledge like it's nothing now. Heee-Maaan!

I haven't ever used the pant/hip pads though, but definitely if you've got a touchy hip you should try it. Anything to keep on rolling :!:

I learned royales in tarmacs, I can royale anything. I even strapped on a pair of chocolates a couple months ago and could still royale in em.
