You guys got any suggestions on how i should grind, ive been trying it and i cant keep my fucking ballance. Ive been trying to grind on street not vert. You think it would be better to just do it vert?

to tell you the truth you need to get your balance on street or get into a miny ramp and try to gain balance by doing frontsides and backsides to warmup and get used to the feel and balance on the coping.
If you dont have any balance on street or in mini your not going to have balance in vert. Its a little different trying to grind in vert than on street or mini. see you dont have much of a delay going into your grind on mini or street. where as on vert you sometimes you feel like your waiting for the coping so theres a delay going into a grind on vert.
Usually what i do before i try a new trick i stall it a couple of times then i try to land it while grinding.
Try to stall it a couple of times then work on when your grinding putting yourself on top of the rail.
Along time ago i used to have a balance problem. I used to just jump on to the rail and lean to the side a little cause i was afraid of racking or falling on the rail. so when you grind and jump ontop of the rail and not to the side you will have more balance and if your off balance a better time to readjust to regain balance.

Vert isin't about grinding, its a speed waster
not exactly vert rider.....vert is a combination of everything.....true...it is made for the big airs....but it shows you have just as much talent when you can throw the technical grinds on the coping too.....and it doesn't seem like much of a "speed waster" for the yasatokos....they throw grinds in the middle of runs..and then back to the big air in no time....
but he is right....grinding robs you of momentum. you go from a 5 foot air then into a grind, and it's like you're dropping in again, so you have to burn more energy to get the height again.
grinding is cool and all, but it should be best left at the end of the run. you dont want to burn out in the middle...although, the biggest tricks should also be left towards the end. a 540 just doesnt look good when it's thrown after something big like a double backflip...vert is damn confusing, that's why i skate street.

who have you seen 450 unity on vert!!!??? I never have and I think I would have seen it. 270 back unities but never 250 unities.
Also grinding can take your momentum away but if you are good at your timing it can give you a breather between hammers in a run. I usually put my grinds towards the end of the run but never at the end. You always want to finish your run on a really strong point wheather is a really hard grind or good spin.
Also when you grind on vert you have to float into it way more than mini. You also have to keep in mind that you will ride all the way up the ramp.

You also have to consider that there are probably going to be a bunch of street guys doing the judging so you have to thow your grinds in.
