Our skates get a lot of wear from all the sliding when we fall on vert. A good way to help protect them is to use shoe goo. You can also use a a short metal screw just make sure the head of the screw is rounded so that it doesn't scrape the ramp.

You gotta be kidding me. No offense, but our skates were made to take abuse. And beside, they will get more messed up on skating street, than sliding down a ramp.

Yeah are skates are made for abuse. but they can only take so much sliding. If you are trying trick after trick and falling on the same spot you will wear through your skates. Shane Yost, Elmer, me, Rich, Rob we all use shoe goo. Sliding down rails and ledges wear down the grind spots but aren't nearly as bad on the boot. When you start throwing down the hammers on vert you'll need the shoe goo.

Yea you lose parts of the skate like the buckles, and toes. They aren't as thick as the parts meant to grind on.

i will have to say i took some of your advice and put it too the test shoe goo works wonders. And i have to agree that if your going to be doing alot of sliding out on vert and park shoe goo can help.

Thats why I won't ever get TRS. Those skins wouldn't last one session with the way I skate. I'd rather keep to my hard boot.

shoo goo really helps but u need to make shure you keep a layer on all the time because like your skates it will wear away

shoe goo- soft bouncey clear glue that hardens but gets a bounceing quality to it.
